Softbook MCP (AI Connector) is an LMS MCP server: it connects your Softbook online school to ChatGPT, Claude, and other apps that support MCP, so you can run the school in plain language. If Claude or ChatGPT is open on your screen all day anyway, you can do it right there. You say what needs doing, and the assistant finds students and courses, pulls up the numbers, enrolls people in a course, or creates a new course with text lessons. You don’t have to set the server up by hand: you copy the address from Softbook and paste it into your assistant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Changes made through the assistant are real. If it enrolls a student, that’s the same as clicking the button in Softbook yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since there are several people, the assistant shows you a plan first and asks you to confirm. Then each of them gets your school’s usual enrollment email, your automations run, and anyone who doesn’t have a Softbook account yet gets an email with a password. If you don’t want any emails to go out this time, say so in the request: "don’t send emails."<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A student enrolled by the assistant will find the course both on the web and in the Softbook app<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You can add up to 50 people at a time. If you need to bring in several thousand students, the regular CSV import in Softbook is the better fit: it doesn’t have these limits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n "Extend Ivan Petrenko’s access to the ‘SMM from Scratch’ course by 30 days"<\/p>\n\n\n\n The assistant finds the student and extends their access. In the same way, you can set an end date, change the start date, remove the time limit, or block and unblock access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If your school has courses with similar names, like "English A1" and "English A1 (2026)", the assistant won’t guess. It will ask which one you mean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n "Show me new homework that hasn’t been reviewed, how much we earned last week, and which students haven’t logged in for a while"<\/p>\n\n\n\n That’s three sections of Softbook in one answer. The assistant never adds up amounts in different currencies: dollars, euros, and hryvnias always come on separate lines. Questions about sales and analytics work if they’re included in your plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n "Which UTM sources brought in the most sales in September?"<\/p>\n\n\n\n The same data is in Softbook analytics. Here you just don’t have to find the right report and set the date range. Similar questions: "Which courses sold best this quarter?" or "Which students haven’t logged in for a long time and might drop out?"<\/p>\n\n\n\n "Create a ‘Photography Basics’ course with three modules of four lessons each, write the text for every lesson, and draw a cover"<\/p>\n\n\n\n The assistant creates the course with modules, writes the text lessons, and draws a cover. Treat it as a draft that you then finish in the course editor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The assistant only creates text lessons. You add videos, files, and quizzes yourself, and the assistant doesn’t edit lessons that contain them. Course covers and avatars are drawn as vector illustrations: simple shapes, gradients, and text. It won’t replace a photo, but it will fill the empty spot on the course card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It doesn’t send emails, campaigns, or Telegram messages on request. You can’t message your students through AI; only your school’s system emails go out, such as the enrollment email. It doesn’t issue refunds, change prices, or delete courses or students from your school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It usually takes a few minutes, and there’s no coding involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Start in Softbook. The school owner opens Settings \u2192 AI Connector and turns on "Allow AI connections in this school". The toggle is off by default. The server address is on the same page, ready to copy: Claude<\/strong> (claude.ai and the Claude Desktop app). Go to Settings \u2192 Connectors \u2192 Add custom connector, paste the address, and continue. Not every Claude plan lets you add custom connectors; it depends on your Claude subscription.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ChatGPT.<\/strong> Go to Settings \u2192 Plugins \u2192 Browse catalog \u2192 Add \u2192 Create custom MCP server. Paste the address, choose OAuth for authentication, and click Create. As with Claude, whether you can add a custom server depends on your ChatGPT plan. If Softbook adds new features later and ChatGPT doesn’t see them, update the plugin in your ChatGPT settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n From here the steps are the same for Claude and ChatGPT. Sign in to Softbook, pick the schools the assistant can access, and allow the connection. If you want it to make changes and not only show data, turn on "Changes". Without it, the assistant can only look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Claude Code, Cursor, n8n, and other apps that support MCP connect to the same address. The commands and the API key option are in the knowledge base guide<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The assistant only sees the schools you selected when you connected. You can give it view-only access, with no right to change anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If a team works in your school, a team member needs the AI Connector permission in team settings to connect: view only or manage. Their usual permissions still apply. If a team member has no access to sales, the assistant won’t show them orders either. Permissions are checked on every request, so if you take a permission away, the assistant stops doing those actions right away. Students and teachers can’t connect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Settings \u2192 AI Connector page has an Actions via AI log. It lists every change: who did what, through which app, and when. Under Active connections you can see who on your team is connected, through which app, with what access level, and when they last used it. Each connection has a "Revoke" button that takes effect from the next request.<\/p>\n\n\n\n To switch everything off at once, the owner turns off "Allow AI connections in this school". After that, no connection works, not even one that’s already set up. Changing your Softbook password also cuts your AI connections; you just connect again afterwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Changes through AI have limits, so that a mistake in a request doesn’t send emails to thousands of people. If you hit a limit, the assistant tells you how long to wait and then carries on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n AI doesn’t see passwords or payment details. What an AI service does with the text of your conversation depends on that service’s policy, and Anthropic and OpenAI each have their own. Read it before you connect a school with real students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The assistant may understand a request differently from what you meant. That’s why it’s worth reading its plan before you confirm changes for many people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n AI Connector is included in every paid Softbook plan, so you can connect a school on any of them to your assistant.
